What is the Successful Performercast all about?

Kris SheppardHi there, my name is Kris Sheppard. I’m a professional magician and your host for the Successful Performercast. Have you ever asked yourself any of these questions?

  • How can I take my dream to the next level and go full time with my entertainment business?
  • Is it even possible to make a living as an entertainer?
  • How can I learn from professional entertainers that are actually making a living doing what they love?

I’ve asked the same questions myself and that is exactly why I started this podcast. I want to talk to professional entertainers to find out about their career and how they’re making their businesses work. I want to hear out about their failures and successes and learn what lessons they took from those experiences. I want to find out what they’re reading and what resources they use that help them on their journeys to successes. Also, I don’t want to keep this all to myself.

This is information that can help all entertainers, so I’m making it available to you in the form of a free podcast, the Successful Performercast.

Jim Rohn said it best, “You become the average of the five people you spend the most time around.” It’s important that you spend time with and learn from those who are doing what you want to do. Each week I spend between 30 minutes to an hour with a full time pro asking them questions designed to learn about their journey, struggles and victories while at the same time drawing out inspiration and tangible business advice that will help us build our own businesses as entertainers.

It’s my hope through this podcast, to not only glean valuable information to grow my business, but also help other performers, whether a magician, juggler, musician, comedian, or clown to grow theirs as well.

collage-600About Kris Sheppard

Kris Sheppard is his own target demographic. He is a professional magician who also has a day job, a wife and two (soon to be three!) wonderful kids. Every weekday morning, he does the “Reverse Superman,” as Jon Acuff puts it, and punches a clock to provide graphic design services for a high end grocery store chain in Southern California. By night he performs table-side magic at restaurants (ironically still in a suit and tie) in order to make contacts and book private parties.

Just like you, he is working at closing the gap between his day job and his dream job.
